The most conversant, interfering, indulgent and downright rude social networking site, Twitter has changed the way people assemble and disperse information. It is on, full on, all the time. When Twitter hit mainstream, people did not know what to make of it, let alone use it. Since then it has evolved into a giant content syndication tool, an attention seeker’s wet dream, and every brand’s social nightmare.
The power that Twitter wields today is phenomenal. A new segment of celebrities have been created, literally! The Twitter celebrity. With the exception of YouTube, no other new-generation site has been able to create stars out of common individuals and celebrities alike. It does have a very deep, dark side too.
Every NFL, NBA and soccer superstar has been brought down to their knees with God-awful comments, mostly ranging from the harmlessly sarcastic to the full blown death threat. Some celebrities take it easy, like the famous series of celebrities reading nasty mean tweets directed at them hosted on Jimmy Kimmel live. Others take it a bit too seriously. Like the episode of the professional boxer Curtis Woodhouse tracking down his Twitter ‘troll’ right down to the street he lived in, after some rather nasty comments against him regarding a lost boxing match.
A classic example of a very successful entrepreneur delivering sweet justice.

Some of them are worth a lot, some are just not.
