Marketers New Year Resolutions for 2013

  1. Focus on your USP: You might not be the only person who’s selling what you are selling. But projecting what you are selling in a unique way is what makes you different from the others in the industry. So first, before you do anything, just assemble your team and pinpoint the best unique feature of your product or service. If there isn’t any, zero in on the strongest element of your product/service. One best way to identify USP can be by conducting customer surveys and asking them what differentiates your products from the others. Communicate this benefit to the customers using the help of offers.
  2. Publish more content: In 2013, marketers would heave the need to concentrate more on publishing rather than creating content. Though there is a great need to create fresh and quality content, publishing every piece of content created in a better way can prove beneficial.
  3. Ramp up the video: Hope you know that Psy’s Gangnam style had got more than a billion views. Accepted that it is music that has made it go so viral. But do you know that there are many companies including SMBs who create videos and become popular overnight. So hope you do not want to miss out on that. Videos help in creating a great brand image and drive constant traffic to your websites and blogs.
  4. Go mobile: Many digital marketing gurus have been crowing about this in their 2013 predictions. Hope you cannot afford to miss out on this. Creating website which is compatible even on your mobile should be on your priority list.
  5. ‘Outsourcing’ is the word: You have concerns regarding any marketing aspect, be it content or design or website development or SEO or social media or anything that is related to marketing is going to have a major role in the coming years. If you aren’t confident about yourselves, it is better to rely on the masters in that space rather than experimenting and creating a mess.
