For any marketer worth his salt, the holiday season, starting from Halloween to the end of the year is like an all you can eat buffet. We all know the stress that comes with it too! Standing in long lines, waiting for your turn, realizing the food is over. Similar feelings are felt when marketing to the holiday client. Offer upon offer piles up in the prospect’s mail box and the chances of a breakthrough are low to none.
So why is there such a buzz associated with the holiday season? Well, for starters, clients are looking to off load their budget before the year end. This is indeed a golden opportunity and hence the immense amount of offers floating around. Secondly, you wanna be there with your family when the thanksgiving Turkey comes out the oven, so all the work needs to be done much in advance, so you can relax. (It is called holiday season for a reason)
So how do you bust the stress that builds up during this do it or lose it season? Here are a few pointers on managing to gain new clients and net some revenue in the process.
Make sure your offers are available and easy to convert:
You do not want a call from your marketing head asking you to get to work because a client was unable to process your special thanksgiving offer. That is just too bad and for all you know, it might just happen. So make sure your offer is workable, easy to convert with sufficient testing done.
Schedule email campaigns to perfection:
A haphazardly timed campaign does not do anyone any good. It would rather have not gone out in the first place. Time it in such a way that it reaches the right place at the right time.
Optimize your offers for mobile:
When you’re not online at your desk, you will access your mail through your smart phone, so will your prospect. Optimize your campaigns and offers for smart phones, tablets and so on to ensure that no one missed it out.
Be there when you are needed: don’t let your messages go to the mail box. Yes we know that you will not have peace of mind with your phone ringing, but that small move will matter a lot more now, than ever. Be alert and you may just rock the sales charts!
Focus on sending out well designed and personalized offers to prospects. Do not be too pushy and flamboyant and hit where it works. Enjoy your thanksgiving dinner and have a side of revenue in the process!
